COVID19 Update

Latest update...

We’re Open for Adventure!

As an adventure park operator, mitigating risk has always been our highest priority. The same is true with addressing this new risk, COVID-19.

Last Minute Cancellation or Rebooking Policy

If a guest decides to cancel or rebook their tour because they feel uncertain about participating given the current circumstances, we offer a full refund right up to the last minute prior to the introduction process.

Guest Checkin Process

You will be greeted by a member of our staff who will be assisting in checking the following requirements:

  • Temperature and Wellness Check.  We will be taking the temperature of each guest.  Anyone with a high temperature will be asked to not participate and isolate. Anyone who has been exposed to the virus in the last 14 days or has exhibited any signs of illness in the last 14 days will not be allowed to participate and will be asked to isolate.
  • Face-coverings.  All guests are asked to wear a face coverings at all times including during tours.  If you do not bring your own, one will be provided for you.
  • Electronic Waivers.  You must have an electronic waiver completed for each member of your party prior to arrival.  We will not be allowing on-site waiver completion. You can access your electronic waiver from your booking confirmation email.
  • Personal Belongings.  Please leave all personal items in your car.  This includes wallets, purses, keys, bags, cell phones, cameras, GoPros, etc.  If you wish for us to hold your car keys, they will be sanitized with an alcohol-based sanitizer prior to us taking possession of them.

Other Protocols & Policies to Protect Our Guests

  • No more than 10 people will be permitted in the Tree House (outpost) at a time in order to maintain social distancing
  • We will have plexiglass guards in front of the counters
  • All guides will wear a face coverings
  • We are capping our ½ and Full Mountaintop Zipline tours to 8 guests.  Private tours can also be arranged with advance notice by calling us at 828.266.0449.
  • We are frequently sanitizing our common spaces and restrooms
  • We have hand sanitizer readily available for all guests in multiple locations
  • We are practicing first in/last out gear rotations so that all gear has adequate time to naturally disinfect
  • We are using a commercial Ozone machine to disinfect our entire gear room that houses all harnesses, helmets, and gloves on a nightly basis
  • Brand new, never before used leather gloves are available for purchase at $10 per pair
  • Free nitrile gloves will be required during your tour to wear as a sanitary liner glove.  Bring your own or we can provide them to you free of charge.
  • Alcohol wipes are available free of charge for both hand sanitization and a last-minute wipe down of helmets prior to each tour
  • Tour start times are staggered to allow adequate time between tours for gear rotation and sanitization, as well as to decrease the number of people in one location

Despite all of these precautions and operating in an outdoor environment spread over 95 acres of pristine forest surrounded by 100,000 acres of NFS, close personal contact with our guests is unavoidable.

We understand the concept of social distancing and support it whenever possible, but there will be times where guests and employees will share communal space.  This relaxation of 6 ft rule is allowed in Phase 2 of NC’s COVID-19 protection initiative, but if a potential participant objects to that, we understand and support their decision to wait until they feel more confident in the process.

Thank you for a great start to our Spring season! We had a blast with all of our guests over the last few weeks, but in an effort to support the spirit of defeating this pandemic in every possible way, we’ve decided to pause operations. We look forward to hanging out with you in the trees very soon!

March 19th Update...

We remain open and are booking tours online or over the phone!

Private Tours are Available: As of today (March 19th) we’re also offering private tours on our 1/2 and Full Mountaintop Zipline Tours. We’re making these available at no extra cost for parties of 5 or more. If you have less than 5 participants in your group, you can still book a private party simply by paying for 5 guests.

All Tours are Capped at 8 Guests: We have committed to capping all 1/2 and Full Mountaintop Zipline tours at 8 participants for the foreseeable future.  This measure will help ensure that you and your family have an ample opportunity to get out and enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, and sunshine with minimal contact with the public!

10AM Tour Time: Taking that a step further, we have a tour at 10 AM each day.  This is the first tour of the day, and booking that tour will almost certainly ensure that you will not have contact with any other members of the general population outside of your 2 guides, the manger and the office staff.

Precautions to Minimize Risk: Please see below to read about how we’re taking efforts to minimize risks associated with COVID-19.

As always, if you have questions or would like to book a private tour, please give us a call at 828.526.8773 or contact us here.

All the best!
